Draft 2030 Climate Action Plan and Redline Draft 2030 Climate Action Plan
As part of the Envision Burlingame/General Plan Update, the City has been working on an updated 2030 Climate Action Plan (2030 CAP Update). The draft and review period have been completed.  An overview presentation from the Annual Joint meeting of the City Council and Planning Commission on April 27, is available here. A presentation and question and comment session for all community members was held at the Citizens Environmental Council meeting, May 8, 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the Main Library, 480 Primrose Road, second floor conference room. 

Notice of Availability of an Addendum to the City of Burlingame 2040 General Plan Environmental Impact Report 
The purpose of the Notice of Availability was to request comments on the 2030 CAP Update, proposed General Plan amendments, and EIR Addendum the City has prepared for the Burlingame 2040 General Plan Project any agencies, persons, or organizations concerned with the environmental effects of the 2030 CAP Update and associated General Plan amendments. The starting and ending dates for the review period during which time the City received comments on the proposed 2030 CAP Update, General Plan Amendments, and EIR Addendum were June 19, 2019 and July 3, 2019, respectively. Request for responses were accepted until 5 PM on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 to Andrea Pappajohn, Sustainability and Climate Management Fellow, 501 Primrose Road, Burlingame, CA 94010 or to apappajohn@burlingame.org 

On August 12, 2019 the Planning Commission reviewed the redlined version of the 2030 CAP Update and took public testimony to make a recommendation to the City Council. This included recommendations on the 2030 CAP Update document, as well as associated General Plan and EIR amendments.  The City Council will review the 2030 CAP Update, proposed General Plan policies, and EIR amendments as a General Plan Amendment. The City Council will hold a public hearing to consider adoption of the City of Burlingame 2030 Climate Action Plan and Addendum to the General Plan Environmental Impact Report (EIR) Tuesday, September 3, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, 501 Primrose Road, Burlingame, California. For further information, please contact Andrea Pappajohn apappajohn@burlingame.org

2010 Community Wide Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory

Beacon Spotlight Award - the City was awarded 4 Spotlight awards for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and implementing climate actions.

Climate Mayors Network Burlingame's City Council adopted a resolution to support the Paris Climate Agreement and join the Climate Mayors Network. The Paris Climate Agreement is an agreement among countries to limit greenhouse gases and prevent global temperatures from increasing above 2 degrees. It is non-binding and was signed by 196 parties in December 2015 in Paris. The Climate Mayors Network is a network of over 200 mayors from around the country committed to climate actions. 

The Citizens Environmental Council of Burlingame - is a volunteer organization that provides leadership in local green efforts. The CEC succeeded the City's Green Ribbon Task Force, where their effort culminated in the Burlingame City Council's adoption of the 2009 Climate Action Plan.
