Climate Action Plan
Draft 2030 Climate Action Plan - released for review
As part of the Envision Burlingame/General Plan Update, the City has been working on an updated 2030 Climate Action Plan. The draft has been completed and is available for review. An overview presentation from the Annual Joint meeting of the City Council and Planning Commission on April 27, is available here.
There will also be a presentation and question and comment session at the Citizens Environmental Ccouncil meeting, May 8, 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the Main Library, 480 Primrose Road, second floor conference room. All community members are welcome.
The next step will be for the Planning Commission to review the CAP and take public testimony to make a recommendation to the City Council. This will include recommendations on the CAP document, as well as associated General Plan and EIR amendments. The City Council will then review the CAP, proposed General Plan policies, and EIR amendments as a General Plan Amendment. For further information, please contact Andrea Pappajohn email@example.com

2010 Community Wide Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory
Beacon Spotlight Award - the City was awarded 4 Spotlight awards for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and implementing climate actions.
Climate Mayors Network - Burlingame's City Council adopted a resolution to support the Paris Climate Agreement and join the Climate Mayors Network. The Paris Climate Agreement is an agreement among countries to limit greenhouse gases and prevent global temperatures from increasing above 2 degrees. It is non-binding and was signed by 196 parties in December 2015 in Paris. The Climate Mayors Network is a network of over 200 mayors from around the country committed to climate actions.
The Citizens Environmental Council of Burlingame - is a volunteer organization that provides leadership in local green efforts. The CEC succeeded the City's Green Ribbon Task Force, where their effort culminated in the Burlingame City Council's adoption of the 2009 Climate Action Plan.
