Visiting the Planning Division: City Hall remains closed to the public in compliance with COVID-19 safety protocols, so it is not currently possible to visit the planning counter. New Application Submittals: The Planning Division is accepting new applications by appointment. To schedule an appointment to drop off your submittal, please send an email to email@example.com or phone 650-558-7250. Please note that electronic submittals are not being accepted at this time.
The Planning Division is responsible for maintaining the City's General Plan and various Specific Plans, and for maintaining, updating, and administering the City's zoning regulations and sign regulations that implement the policies outlined in these adopted plans. The zoning regulations contain the specific regulations that inform the design and construction of new development and additions to existing structures, including height limits, floor area ratio, parking requirements, lot coverage, property line setbacks, as well as outlining design review processes for various types of projects when required.
