Curbside Pickup Just Got Easier!
Our contactless Curbside Pickup service just got easier. Simply place a hold on items that you want through the catalog, just like you used to before. Once your item is ready, we will email you. But now, the email notification directs you to a page on our website to book an online appointment for Curbside Pickup of your materials.
You can book a Curbside Pickup appointment during the following times:
Mondays from 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Tuesdays from 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Wednesdays from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Thursdays from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Fridays from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Saturdays from 10:00 AM - 2 PM

How do appointments work?
To pick up items curbside, you will need to book a parking stall in Parking Lot A. Three designated spots will be clearly marked. During your 15-minute window, drive into the stall reserved by you, call the number in your confirmation email, and staff will bring out your items to place them on the pickup table. Once staff are back in the building, you can exit your vehicle and pickup your holds.
Can I pick up additional holds belonging to my family with the same appointment. What do I do in that situation?You can enter up to three cardholder names when scheduling a Curbside Pickup appointment. Also, please enter the additional library card numbers in the library card field as well.
I have 20 items on hold, and email notifications are coming in individually for each book. Do I need to book an appointment for each one?
When you arrive at your appointment, staff will gather any items that have come in for you. For example, if you receive a notice on Monday and book an appointment for Friday, but get additional notices for items on Tuesday and Thursday, you don't need to book additional appointments. Staff will gather any items that have arrived for you at that point. Anything that has not arrived yet would require a separate appointment.
What happened to the Google form?
The Google form is no longer needed because holds are placed directly through the catalog, streamlining the process it takes to request items.
Am I still limited to items at Burlingame Main?
No, most items throughout the Peninsula Library System will be now be eligible. But due to varying staffing levels at PLS libraries, some items may take longer to arrive than others.
How long until my items start arriving?
Please allow 2 weeks for items to arrive due to the varying staffing levels of the libraries in PLS. This is for items being shipped from one library to another. The turnaround time for items on the shelves at our library is faster, but you will still need to book an appointment after you have been notified that the item is ready.
It’s my appointment time and there’s a car parked in my designated stall. What should I do?
We have several parking stalls designated for 10-minute appointments. As such, all four stalls may be occupied at the same time since appointment windows are booked back-to-back. The stalls are primarily used for booking appointments, so you are welcome to park somewhere else in the parking lot and walk to the pickup table to retrieve your items.
I received a message saying my hold is ready for pickup, what do I do next?
What if I don't have email?
You can call 558-7400 Monday through Friday from 10 AM – 4:00 PM and Saturday from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM and Library Staff will help you place a hold online.
Can I return my books?
Yes, the curbside book returns along Bellevue Avenue are now open. The book return at the Easton Branch will reopen at a later date.
I need help picking out books for my kids!
No problem, we are here to help! Fill out this form and staff will put together some bundles of children's books for you. You'll receive a notification when they are ready and be prompted to make a reservation for curbside pickup. If there are specific titles you want, please use our catalog to place a hold on those items.
