Book Club

There are three book clubs at the Burlingame Public Library.

NEWSLETTER-ADULTS-Booked on Crime Winter-2020
The Booked on Crime book club meets every third Thursday of the month at 6:00 PM.

Join us each month in the UL room to discuss a mystery, thriller or true crime book. We pick our books about three months out so if you join us in the next few sessions you can help influence what we'll read. We have been lucky to get some authors to Zoom in to our meetings.

January 19:
The Bone Canyon by Lee Goldberg

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department homicide detective Eve Ronin investigates the cold-case disappearance and death of a woman whose remains are found in the aftermath of a Santa Monica Mountains fire.

February 16: The Violin Conspiracy by Brendan Slocumb

Ray McMillian loves playing the violin more than anything, and nothing will stop him from pursuing his dream of becoming a professional musician. Not his mother, who thinks he should get a real job, not the fact that he can't afford a high-caliber violin, not the racism inherent in the classical music world. And when he makes the startling discovery that his great-grandfather's fiddle is actually a priceless Stradivarius, his star begins to rise.

March 16: Triptych by Karin Slaughter

Troubled by a rocky marriage and the recent loss of his partner, Atlanta detective Michael Ormewood launches an investigation into the savage murder of a local woman, but for ex-con John Shelley, desperate to prove his innocence, the nightmare has just begun.

We'll meet in the Upper Level Meeting Room.

Burlingame Book Club

The Burlingame Book Club meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month and is run outside of the library, but the library assists the group in acquiring the book selections. The group chooses a year's worth of selections at the December meeting.

The group meets at 11:30am in the Library Conference Room or via Zoom. For more information please contact Marilyn at: mjbmeyerson@gmail.com

The Great Conversations Book Club meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month and is a community book club that meets in the Library, but is not staffed by the Burlingame Public Library. The Library assists the group in acquiring reading materials and booking a meeting space. The group's reading selections are based off of materials from the Great Books Foundation.
