Elementary Sports

Welcome to the Burlingame Parks & Recreation Department Elementary Sports Page

The Burlingame Parks and Recreation Department offers three sports for your 4th & 5th graders that will be entering McKinley, Lincoln, Franklin, Roosevelt or Washington Elementary Schools. Residents attending non-public schools in Burlingame are invited to participate in any sport. However they are required to sign-up for the Burlingame school they would have attended. Athletes may not participate in the same sport at a private school and a public school at any time. This is a violation of the PPSL league rules and will lead to forfeiture of non-public school games. Registration is taken on a first come, first served basis.

Waiting Lists
Waiting lists are created when a particular sports team is full. If your child gets added to a WL the Parks and Recreation Department will only call you if we are able to form another team. Your child can only be added to one waitlist. A child that is put on a WL cannot show up to practice. If we have enough children on a wait list to create another team, and there is a coach willing to volunteer, we will try our best to add another team to the league.

Code of Conduct
Positive sportsmanship is one of the many goals of the elementary school sports program. Every participant, parent and coach will be able to access our code of conduct on our website. Once teams are created, each coach will go over the code of conduct with their players and parents.

Do you want to volunteer as a coach?
We Are Always Looking for Volunteer Coaches! Please contact the coordinator for an application to coach in the Elementary School Sports program. If you are approved to be a volunteer coach (by completing Live Scan documentation & application) you are still responsible for registering your child by the listed deadline. If your child is placed on a waitlist, you will have to help us round up enough additional children to register before we can create a second team.
