Please join us for a Freedom to Read Banned Books Open House on Saturday, October 7 at 2pm.
We will highlight some of the banned and challenged books in the Burlingame Library collection,
and teens will perform response poetry they have written to some of these books in workshops
led by the Burlingame-Hillsbourgh Youth Poet Laureate, Lauren Lin.

Teens in Grades 7-12 are invited to join Burlingame-Hillsborough Youth Poet Laureate Lauren Lin
for a series of Saturday poetry workshops (no previous experience needed!) this fall:

*October 21 will include a special informational session about the rules, duties, benefits,
and application requirements to apply for the next Youth Poet Laureate position.

Poetry Workshops will take place in the Upper Level Meeting Room of the Main Library and are for any teens
interested in poetry, but will also help you prepare to apply for the 2024-2025 Youth Poet Laureate position.
