Book to Action 2019
Featuring: March, by John Lewis and Aydin, Illustrated by Nate PowellBurlingame Public Library held our community Book to Action program, February - June 2019, with support from California Center for the Book, and in partnership with the League of Women Voters North and Central San Mateo County.
In the spirit to READ, DISCUSS, and ACT, we chose the book MARCH by John Lewis and Andrew Aydin, illustrated by Nate Powell. With this title, we aimed to think deeply about the subject of civic action, learn from featured speakers, and ultimately contribute to the community with civic engagement activities. We also joined forces with the San Mateo County Office of Education with their launch of a county initiative.
We gave away 60 copies of March Book 1, and 17 copies each of March Books 1 and 2, as part of our program with California Center for the Book.
