Ride Along

Patrol Ride-A-LongThe Burlingame Police Department offers a ride along program which gives our citizens an opportunity to experience the police function first hand. The program is available to residents, students, and those employed within the city. The program is available on most days of the week and can be scheduled after completion of a ride along waiver. The waiver can be obtained at the Burlingame Police Department front desk. Approved civilian ride along will be allowed to ride no more than once every six months. Exceptions can be made at the discretion of the watch commander. The applicant must provide a valid California ID or drivers license, address, and telephone number. If under 18 years of age, a parent/guardian must be present to complete the ride along waiver form.

This check, along with other factors may be considered when disqualifying an applicant. Examples of those factors may include being under 15 years of age, prior criminal history, pending criminal action, pending lawsuit against the department, and watch commander discretion.
