1499 Bayshore Highway
The City of Burlingame has received an application to redevelop the property at 1499 Bayshore Highway with a 404-room, 12-story hotel.
The project would include 271,565 SF of building area and 144,518 SF of above-ground structured parking. Hotel amenities would include 6,200 SF of hotel bar/café/buffet space, 3,200 SF of conference/meeting space, a 1,900 SF pool bar and grill, a 1,700 SF rooftop bar/lounge, and an 1,800 SF fitness center. A 2,900 SF free-standing "signature" restaurant would adjoin the hotel at the streetfront. The building would have an overall height of 143 feet.
The proposed project would have a total of 355 on-site parking spaces. Parking would be provided in a four-story structure integrated into the rear of the building.
The project requires the following permits and actions:
- Commercial Design Review
- Conditional Use Permit for a hotel with a density greater than sixty-five (65) rooms to the acre
- Conditional Use Permit for Height above 35 feet
- Conditional Use Permit for Floor Area Ratio greater than 2.0
- Lot Merger
Planning Commission Study Meeting - November 27, 2017 - A design review study meeting to review the proposed project was held with the Planning Commission on November 27, 2017. As this was a study meeting, no action was taken on the application. The application has now progressed to environmental review, and will return to the Planning Commission for action once the environmental review has been completed.
