1499 Bayshore Highway
The City of Burlingame has approved an application to redevelop the property at 1499 Bayshore Highway with a 404-room, 11-story hotel.
The project would include 271,565 SF of building area and 144,518 SF of above-ground structured parking. Hotel amenities would include 6,200 SF of hotel bar/café/buffet space, 3,200 SF of conference/meeting space, a 1,900 SF pool bar and grill, a 1,700 SF rooftop bar/lounge, and an 1,800 SF fitness center. A 2,900 SF free-standing "signature" restaurant would adjoin the hotel at the streetfront. The building would have an overall height of 136 feet.
The proposed project would have a total of 289 on-site parking spaces. Parking would be provided in a four-story structure integrated into the rear of the building.

Notice of Intent to Adopt a Mitigated Negative Declaration - In accordance with Section 15072(a) of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines, notice is hereby given of the City’s intent to adopt a Mitigated Negative Declaration for the proposed project. The City of Burlingame has completed a review of the proposed project, and on the basis of an Initial Study and mitigations, finds that the project will not have a significant effect upon the environment. The Notice of Intent to Adopt a Mitigated Negative Declaration and Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration are available for public review at City Hall, Community Development Department - Planning Division, 501 Primrose Road, Burlingame, California, 94010.
As mandated by State Law, the minimum comment period for this document is 30 (thirty) days and begins on July 25, 2019 and ends on August 26, 2019. Pursuant to Public Resources Code Section 21177, any legal challenge to the adoption of the proposed Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration will be limited to those issues presented to the City during the public comment period and/or during any duly noticed public hearings.
Planning Commission Study Meeting - November 27, 2017 - A design review study meeting to review the proposed project was held with the Planning Commission on November 27, 2017. As this was a study meeting, no action was taken on the application. The application has now progressed to environmental review, and will return to the Planning Commission for action once the environmental review has been completed.
