RFP for Specific Plan for North Rollins Road

The City of Burlingame is seeking proposals from multi-disciplinary firms, consultants, and consultant teams to provide professional services for the preparation of the North Rollins Road Specific Plan. Development of the Specific Plan is an implementation item of the City’s recently adopted General Plan. Proposals should include information demonstrating experience in land planning, urban design, landscaping, sustainability, and public works infrastructure.

The City of Burlingame has a vision that northern Rollins Road will be developed into a dynamic, vibrant, intergenerational, and eclectic mixed-use neighborhood, with great connectivity to the Millbrae multi-modal transit station, as well as within the neighborhood itself.

The scope of the desired Specific Plan is not limited to beautification, but should also include design standards, bicycle and pedestrian mobility (with safety considerations), green infrastructure, and green building such as Net Zero carbon buildings. The plan should also provide direction for the design of improvements in the public realm, as well as an approach to providing open space, including the design of a plaza/park or open space areas (either as part of new developments or as public amenities).  Furthermore, the City welcomes creative ways to incorporate recreational and entertainment elements into the overall vision.
