Summer Reading Challenge!

We encourage teens to read for fun, which empowers critical thinking skills, provides continual learning opportunities, and enhances empathy. 
Get a free book when you start!
Finishers receive a Barnes & Noble gift card, and entry into the $1,000 college scholarship raffle.

Review for Prizes! From June 1st - August 1st, teens can write meaningful book reviews (one per day), and bring them to the library to receive a scratch ticket for various prizes, and entry to the grand raffle prize of a VISA $150 Gift Card!  All reading counts, and we have many reading lists here in the Library’s Teen Room and online, as well as a Summer Reading area for school-assigned reading.

Summer Reading Challenge!

NEWSLETTER-Summer Reading for All Ages-JUNE-AUG-2019


For all ages:
*Pick up a log from the library. Or download it here
*Choose a free book from the selection provided when you sign up
*Color a shape each time you read or listen for 20 minutes and do 6 activities
*When all shapes are colored in, return the log to the library
*Return the completed log between June 1st and August 31st to receive a free paperback book and a coupon to Benihana and Chipotle for a free meal. You will also be entered into a drawing for a $1000 College Scholarship and a drawing for Giants Tickets (Giants raffle held 8/15)
*Logs can be completed multiple times for more chances to win the scholarship

You can also sign up online at: www.summerlearners.org and bring proof (digital or print) of your progress to the Library.

For those entering K-6:
*Pick up a bingo sheet at the library 
*Cross off each sqaure as you do them
*Fill out the raffle ticket attached if you complete one whole row (a bingo!)
*Fill out the extra bonus ticket if you complete the whole bingo card
*Raffle tickets enter you into a chance to win a big stuffed polar bear
*Bingo sheet must be turned in by 8/15/2019
