Recent news articles have covered the fiscal situation for the City of Burlingame and have included references to additional reductions or revenue increases that would be considered should there be further decline in projected revenues and/or should requested new revenues not be approved. Should the situation necessitate consideration of these options meetings and hearings will be held by the City Council before implementation.

The City has placed a budget update on its website please click on the link below. The update includes the history of City revenues, 2008-2009 cuts that have already occurred ($2.3 million), and projections for the 2009-2010 budget (potential cuts of $4.47 million). The update also indicates the areas where future cuts may occur and how they will impact important City services. The City Council wants the public to be aware of how the City is responding to its budget challenges and revenue shortfalls.
