Neighborhood Watch

The Neighborhood Watch program establishes a network for concerned citizens to communicate with their neighbors and the police regarding crime related problems. The program asks you to be involved with your neighbors and their property by being more aware of the activity on your street. You will be the eyes and ears of the Police Department.
The goal of Neighborhood Watch is to reduce crime and the fear of crime by:

  • Being proactive regarding crime prevention
  • Having neighbors to look out for eachother
  • Increasing awareness of neighborhood crime
  • Increasing home security
  • Increasing individual ability to identify property
  • Active surveillances of neighborhood by residents

Neighborhood Watch groups meet to discuss items such as home security, personal safety, bicycle safety, drug awareness, stranger danger, fire prevention, etc. Contact Sergeant Jim Ford, Burlingame Police Department at 650-777-4140 for details.

Neighborhood Network

Neighborhood Network is a private, non-profit program that encourages citizens to work cooperatively in neighborhood teams to prepare for disasters. In the process of getting better acquatinted, neighbors are inspired to plan other events such as block parties and holiday get-togethers. Their sense of community fosters a "Neighborhood Watch" awareness that helps prevent crime. For more information on starting a Neighborhood Network, please contact:
