Announcing the Burlingame Green Fair, in Conjunction with the City’s Sunday Fresh Market

The First Annual Burlingame Green Street Fair, presented by the Burlingame Green Ribbon Task Force, will present companies, non-profit organizations, workshops and speakers together in a friendly and family-oriented outdoor environment to highlight exciting green products and technologies and to demonstrate creative ways to be eco-driven. Attendees will be introduced to local green vendors and sustainable lifestyle ideas in conjunction with the Burlingame Chamber of Commerce’s Sunday Fresh Market
The event will take place on Sunday, May 18th , from 10 am to 2 pm in conjunction with the Burlingame Sunday Fresh Market. The Green Street Fair will promote environmental efficiency and educate Burlingame residents on the importance of issues such as recycling, energy efficiency and sustainability. The event will showcase Bay Area businesses displaying, demonstrating and/or selling eco-friendly, organic and green products. Attendees can learn about green energy, green building materials, services, and design, green gardening, green vehicles and transportation, green lifestyle products, recycling/reuse, and sustainability education and training.
Highlights of the 2008 Green Street Fair:
- The first 300 attendees who take the “Eco-Pledge” will receive a free green reusable shopping bag
- Gardening demonstrations
- Green building materials, services and design
- Green energy demonstrations, including solar, lighting and energy optimization
- Home furnishings and supplies
- Children’s activity centers, including a climbing wall

The Burlingame Green Ribbon Task Force is comprised of members of the education community, residents, and private business people as well as members of Burlingame city staff, the Planning Commission and the City Council.
Volunteers who wish to assist with the Green Fair are invited to a brief training session for volunteers on Wednesday, May 14, at 7 p.m. in Conference Room A at Burlingame City Hall, 480 Primrose Road.
